Jefferson County Courthouse
Location: Bessemer, Alabama
Project Value: $60 Million
Project Scope: Provided geotechnical exploration and consultation services during the design phase and assisted in the preparation of specifications for foundation installation. Monitored drilled pier installation which saved the client approximately 30% of budgeted foundation cost. Provided materials testing and Special Inspection services during construction phase of the project.

SoHo/Homewood City Hall
Location: Homewood, Alabama
Project Value: $55 Million
Project Scope: Performed materials testing and Special Inspection Services for mixed use development consisting of 2 multi-story concrete and steel framed residential/retail buildings on a combination of drilled piers and spread footings co-located with a new city hall/municipal building all above a subterranean parking area. With construction of both municipal building and residential/retail buildings occurring simultaneously on the same site, Building & Earth was able to coordinate the required inspections for multiple owners with a minimal number of personnel, providing a savings of approximately 40% in potential service fees.

Cary Community Arts Building
Location: Cary, North Carolina

Project Scope: Provided construction materials testing services for significant addition and renovation project including renovation of a 2 story tower and a new 3 story, 52,000 sqf. structural steel and masonry framed addition with architectural precast and brick veneer.
