Our Louisville, KY team has the extensive geologic and geotechnical engineering practical knowledge necessary to provide well-informed, state-of-the-art, and cost-effective solutions for your projects. Supporting our geotechnical engineering service, Building & Earth provides subsurface exploration through our in-house geotechnical drilling operations, geophysical exploration, including REMi, one- and two-dimensional seismic refraction, and ground-penetrating radar. We are also supported by a full-service geotechnical laboratory.

The construction materials engineering services provided through our Louisville office address all Kentucky, Indiana and IBC special inspections requirements, in addition to typically required construction materials testing services. Our field-testing services are provided via highly competent personnel who are fully trained and certified under ACI, IBC NICET, AWS, ASNT and other governing bodies. Building & Earth construction testing services address earthworks, reinforced concrete, structural steel, light gauge framing, roofing, and more. Additionally, we provide floor flatness testing, dynamic pile-driving analysis, thermal imaging, and cross-hole seismic inspection of built earth structures.

Branch Manager Nathan Anderson, P.E.

Nathan Anderson, P.E., serves as the Branch Manager at Building & Earth’s Louisville, KY branch. With over 7 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering field, Nathan specializes in soil mechanics, project management, and special inspections. A certified special inspector and professional engineer, his experience includes geotechnical and materials testing projects across 10 states in a variety of sectors, including renewable energy, retail, military, commercial, and industrial.

Nathan’s journey at Building & Earth began during his college years as an intern lab technician, where he gained hands-on experience and a deep understanding of geotechnical processes. His career progression continued with Building & Earth post-graduation, where his passion for engineering led to advancement within the Louisville management team.

Nathan holds a Master’s Degree of Engineering from the University of Louisville. As an alumnus of the university, he maintains a strong connection to its community and actively supports its sporting events. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys capturing wildlife through photography, bowhunting, and playing golf with friends on the weekends.
