Building & Earth Breaks Ground on
New Office Building for Growing Huntsville Branch
Partners in Progress: Building & Earth Marks First New Build for a Branch Office and Continues Commitment to Huntsville

On March 5th, Building & Earth’s Huntsville Branch held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of their new office location. Civic leaders, business partners, clients and employees turned out on an unseasonably chilly day to celebrate this milestone – some travelling from hours away. Srdj Boskovic, PE, Regional Vice President and Principal, kicked off the event, thanking Mayor Tommy Battle for his commitment to Huntsville’s growth. Boskovic highlighted the Building & Earth’s significant expansion from a staff of four in 2006 to a team of over 30, including numerous engineers, which drove the need for construction of an 8,000-square-foot facility with an expansive US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) validated laboratory.
Mayor Battle praised Building & Earth’s investment in Huntsville, noting that such impressive growth rates among the staff signify the kind of employment engine that allows everyone the chance to do well.
President and Cofounder Jeff Cowen, LPG, PE, emphasized the significance of building the office “from the ground up,” which is a first for the company. He also underscored that Building & Earth is in the business of developing leaders and attributed the Huntsville Branch’s growth to solid leadership from Boskovic, PE, as well as Branch Manager Kevin Edmondson. PE.
The event concluded with Chamber of Commerce representative Crystal Baker presenting Building & Earth with a 2025 membership plaque. “You are the type of innovator who drives us closer to our mission of preparing developing and promoting our community for economic growth,” Baker remarked.
Building & Earth has long been planting roots with the city of Huntsville, and we look forward to continuing to serve the city from our newly expanded facility for years to come.
