Branch Manager Jacob Gatling, P.G.

Jacob Gatling, P.G., serves as the Branch Manager at Building & Earth’s Springdale, AR, office. With over a decade of experience in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, and environmental consulting, he has contributed on projects throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and Louisiana. His project experience spans multiple market sectors including industrial, commercial, retail, residential, and renewable energy.

Jacob graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Geology and began working at Building & Earth in our Conway, AR, office (now located in Little Rock), prior to making the move to Springdale in 2018. During his time at Building & Earth, he has served several roles from assistant project manager, project manager, staff professional, geotechnical department manager, ultimately leading to him assuming his current role as branch manager in the spring of 2026. His experience covers all aspects of our operations including construction field testing, geotechnical exploration and logging, environmental and geotechnical report writing, and management and mentorship of junior staff.

Born and raised in Arkansas, Jacob has an appreciation for the natural beauty, sense of community, and outdoor lifestyle Arkansas brings and is proud to live and raise his three kids along with his wife in Northwest Arkansas. In his spare time, Jacob enjoys bowhunting, fishing, golfing, cheering on the Razorbacks, and helping coach his son’s baseball team.
