What Huntsville Has to Offer

They don’t call it the Rocket City for nothing! Huntsville has played an integral role in NASA’s efforts (National Air and Space Administration) for decades. Learn all about the city’s work on the rockets that put the first man on the moon at the United States Space and Rocket Center. While you’re there, check out the U.S. Space Camp Training Center, where you can experience a realistic simulation of a space mission. The Rocket Center was Alabama’s most visited tourism attraction last year!

In addition to its close connection to NASA, Huntsville was recently named one of America’s fastest growing cities by ZipRecruiter, a job listing platform. For good reason, too—outside of NASA, Huntsville is an up-and-comer attracting talent in the STEM fields for all manner of high-tech endeavors (think of it as another potential Silicon Valley); with software engineers and systems engineers in particularly high demand. Because of this vibrancy, the city is on track to become Alabama’s largest city within the next decade.

If you’re considering a move there, or even just a visit, you’re making a smart choice. The city offers a wealth of cultural and culinary options, making it an environment both comfortable and enjoyable for all of the newcomers flocking there for job opportunities. Make sure to stop by Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment, a hotspot for area creatives, and get a beer at one of the city’s great local breweries. If you’ve got time, take in some of the beautiful scenery of the North Alabama area—try Monte Sano Park’s 20 miles of hiking trails and 14 miles of biking paths, for one.
