What Dunn Has to Offer

Looking for a quintessential, small Southern town in the heart of North Carolina? Dunn is your answer. Fun fact: the city was actually named “Dunn” in honor of Bennett R. Dunn, a civil engineer who laid a railroad through it, connecting Wilson, North Carolina, to Fayetteville, North Carolina. Dunn is located less than an hour from North Carolina’s Research Triangle, and 40 miles from Raleigh. The city is designated an All-America City by the National Civic League and has thriving agriculture and manufacturing industries.

Planning a visit to Dunn? The North Carolina Cotton Festival draws tourists from all over each year and is held the first weekend of November in the city’s downtown area. While you’re in town, go to a show at the Heart of Harnett Playhouse or the Harnett Regional Theatre, both of which offer productions throughout the year.

Dunn is a dream location for lovers of the outdoors—Raven Rock State Park and the Cape Fear River offer a stunning backdrop for a multitude of activities, including hiking, swimming, canoeing and more. Golfers, rejoice! Dunn boasts six different golf courses to choose from for a day on the green.
