Commitment
to Building Client Value
The
firm believes that - in today's economy - service providers must
know and understand the forces which drive their clients' business
as well as they know their own. Consistent with its commitment to
client service and delivering value, much of the time of senior
company executives is spent at client locations, keeping up with
developments in the client organizations. In terms of marketing,
this makes the firm a valuable partner to its clients, not just
a service provider, while, at the same time keeping its marketing
costs at a mere 20% of the industry average.
Strategic
Alliances
The company well understands that in this day and age of refined
and aligned supply chains, clients want to limit their transaction
costs. This means that providers of professional services must form
strategic alliances with other complimentary firms and deliver the
benefits of such synergistic teams to its clients. Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. has formed
such alliances with architectural, environmental engineering, law,
and management advisory firms. This helps Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. by helping its client
reduce the costs of procurement.
Projects
Delivered Ahead of Schedule
Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. has pushed the bar higher on customer service. Industry standard
for completing a full geotechnical subsurface exploration report
is typically 3 to 4 weeks. Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. routinely completes their reports
2 weeks after authorization to proceed.
Meeting
and Exceeding Client Needs
A company developing a retail project needed to submit a report
to their client within 10 days in order to salvage their deal. They
turned to Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. for help. Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. mobilized to the site, 850 miles from
its corporate office, and worked through the weekend to complete
the field drilling. The samples were then transported to Birmingham,
where the central laboratory is located. Two associates at the firm
worked through the night to set up the soil tests. The final report
was submitted in 7 working days for a 120-acre site!
Meeting
and Exceeding Technological Challenges
A local school authority had an opportunity to save $150,000 in
design and construction costs if site specific seismic characterization
(SBCCI section 1607) could be performed within a week. Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. partnered
with a specialty firm in Memphis. The deadline was met and the school
system saved the $150,000.
Meeting
the Clients Budget Expectations
Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. was contracted to provide services on a project for a negotiated
budget. The budget was based on the contractors schedule. The contractor
was behind schedule by 60 days. Consequently, Building and Earth Sciences, Inc.'s budget ran
over. Building and Earth Sciences, Inc. negotiated to complete the project at cost. This allowed
the owner to finish their project reasonably within their budget
in spite of the contractor being behind schedule. |
